2017, Aestu (detail), Plaster, 800 x 800 mm

I am interested in capturing the morphology of surfaces that are temporary or unseen; creating tactile sculptures to facilitate people with visual loss and able sighted to equally experience these surfaces using haptic perception.

The Norfolk mud flats are quintessentially in flux with transitory features, including bird footprints and casts, normally too soft to experience through touch. The triad of sculptures allows the audience to feel for the first time the elusive, fugacious and impalpable features of these local ground-scapes.

These sculptures were exhibited at Cley 17 CONNECTIVITY 2017.
